Weekend Event UPdate
Three great events this weekend–moving forward on the Obama agenda:
Tonight! Fri., Feb. 6th “Frost/Nixon” screening at Rosendale Theatre

A special screening of “Frost/Nixon”, a Ron Howard film that has received five Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture, will be held at the Rosendale Theatre, 7:15pm Friday, Feb. 6th. “Frost/Nixon” is a dramatic retelling of the post-Watergate television interviews between British talk-show host David Frost and former president Richard Nixon. A discussion of accountability in government and the media will be hosted after the film by special guests Larry Beinhart, author of “Wag The Dog”, Chronogram contributor, and Fulbright Fellow, and Art Richter, host of Radio Free Kingston on 1490 AM WKNY. Beinhart and Richter will welcome guests to a cocktail reception from 6:30pm to 7:15pm at the theatre. Tickets are $15 at the door. For more information, call 845-399-9300.

Sun., Feb. 8 Fishkill Economic Stimulus Package meeting
Fishkill Democrats
In response to the current economic crisis facing our country that has largely impacted our local communities, The Fishkill Democratic Committee will host a community house meeting on President Obama’s Economic Recovery Plan on Sunday, February 8th at the home of committee chair, Angela Valles, 404 Vassar Place, Fishkill, NY from 4pm-6pm.
A video, provided by the Obama administration, will be shown that will outline the basics of the plan and demonstrate how it will impact working families locally as well as nationally. An informal, open discussion will follow. Participants will be encouraged to ask questions and have an open discussion about their community’s economic situation. Opportunities will be available for networking and support.
