What Can We Do… To Help Elect State and Local Candidates Who Share Our Vision for Our Country?

Suggestions from our initial Change is Coming events are posted below – please add your thoughts in the comments….

Form a coalition of progressives so that we communicate clearly and strongly what our priorities are to the Obama Administration (and local politicos)

Reach out to minority groups and organizations and bring them into coalition

Local priorities (Saugerties) – public transportation, health care, green initiatives

develop outreach programs to include the politically disenfranchised so they are part of the “voice” of change

Campaign and canvass on issues primarily to avoid party-based politics

Contact State/County Legislators – determine actual budget cuts/short falls – will help prioritize objectives – eg if library funding is cut – a bell should go off!

Bring youth into movement

Clean money/clean elections – add to website of public campaign –> (National Organization for Full Public Funding of Campaign)

Identify, support & elect officials who support getting insurance companies out of the health care system
